Taste of Ukraine in one dish – BUCKWHEAT PATTIES!

Buckwheat patties are not just a taste, but also memories of warm family holidays and traditional Ukrainian dinners. Buckwheat, boiled to perfection, mixed with fresh herbs, onions, and eggs, creates an unparalleled flavor bouquet.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 1 cup of buckwheat ‘JARKA’ or ‘Pasta Lenka’;
  • 1 onion;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 1 egg;
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Step 1

Cook 1 cup of buckwheat TM “JARKA” or “Pasta Lenka” until ready, then drain the water and let the buckwheat cool slightly.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix the buckwheat with finely chopped onions, crushed garlic, an egg, fresh herbs, and add salt and pepper.

Step 3

Mix well to form a homogeneous mass. If the mixture is too liquid, add some breadcrumbs or flour.

Step 4

Shape the buckwheat patties and fry them on a preheated pan on both sides until golden brown. Cover with a lid while frying to make the patties juicy inside.

Serve the buckwheat patties hot, garnished with fresh herbs and delicious sour cream.

These buckwheat patties are perfect for those looking for a tasty and hearty dish made from buckwheat, which is a traditional Ukrainian dish.
