Cherry Brownies

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 200 g. of dark chocolate (70% cocoa);
  • 150 g. of butter;
  • 200 g. of sugar;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 100 g. of flour;
  • 50 g. of cocoa powder;
  • 1 tsp of vanilla sugar;
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder;
  • 150 g. of fresh or frozen cherries;
  • A pinch of salt.

STEP 1. Prepare the chocolate

Melt the dark chocolate with butter in a water bath or microwave. Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.

STEP 2. Mix the dry ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, vanilla sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

STEP 3. Beat the eggs with sugar

In another bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until fluffy.

STEP 4. Combine the ingredients

Add the cooled chocolate and butter mixture to the egg mixture and stir. Then, add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until smooth.

STEP 5. Add the cherries

Carefully fold the cherries into the batter. If the cherries are frozen, make sure to thaw and pat them dry to avoid making the batter too runny.

STEP 6. Bake

Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking pan (approximately 20×20 cm). Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick — it should come out slightly moist but not wet.

STEP 7. Cool and serve

Let the brownies cool, cut them into portions, and enjoy the chocolate-cherry flavor.
