Crispy Buckwheat Balls with Cheese and Sesame

An unusual snack made from everyone’s favorite buckwheat TM JARKA.
Buckwheat is not only a side dish. Sometimes a little creativity is enough to turn it into an original and very appetizing meal. Crispy buckwheat balls with cheese and sesame have a golden crust, a tender center, and a pleasant nutty aroma.

Ingridients:

  • TM JARKA buckwheat — 200 g.

  • Hard cheese — 120 g.

  • Egg — 1

  • Breadcrumbs — 3–4 tbsp

  • Sesame seeds — 2–3 tbsp

  • Garlic — 1 clove

  • Salt — to taste

  • Black pepper — to taste

  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Fresh herbs (dill or parsley)

Step 1. Cook the buckwheat

Rinse the JARKA buckwheat and cook it until tender. Let it cool slightly.

Step 2. Prepare the mixture

Add the egg, finely grated cheese, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and some chopped herbs to the buckwheat. Mix well until combined.

Step 3. Shape the balls

Form small balls about the size of a walnut from the mixture.

Step 4. Coat them

Mix the breadcrumbs with sesame seeds and roll each ball in the mixture. This will give the snack a crispy texture and a pleasant aroma.

Step 5. Fry

Fry the balls in a heated pan with a small amount of oil until golden and crispy on all sides.

Serving:

Fry the balls in a heated pan with a small amount of oil until golden and crispy on all sides.

Tip:

Place a small cube of cheese inside each ball before frying — when you cut it open, you’ll get a delicious melted cheese center.
